| I am shortly going to join SAP Basis field.
What are the positive and negative points to be a SAP Basis consultant??
Is it better in comparison to development work??

| Hi Nitty,
Being a SAP Basis Consultant there is too much possibility that you have to work on shifts, weekends and on Goverment holidays as well. All these conditions are based on your client Requirements.
On the Other Hand ,in Developments projects there are no such Strict Conditions , but depending upon your Project Deadlines sometimes you may have to work.
Also in SAP Basis field, there are many Chances of working in Shifts if your in Mintainance Project rather than Migration or Go-Live Projects.
I hope this answers your questions.
Also in terms of Salary and Current Market Demand, Basis Consultants have a plus point.

Demerit of SAP Basis Consultant:
- Expensive
- Very Complex
- Demands Highly Trained Staff
- Lengthy Implementation Time
- Inter-modules functions least understood by business, but high on list of reasons to buy
- Creates internal conflict in organizations
- SAP rolls out new versions every 6 months
